Akihisa Shiozaki (Attorney)

Mr. Shiozaki graduated from the Department of Law at Tokyo University, holds a Master’s degree in international policy studies from Stanford University, and received an MBA from Wharton. As a practicing lawyer he has advised on numerous cross-border M&A and financial transactions. At the same time, drawing on experience with media and communications issues that he gained working at the Office of the Prime Minister, he also frequently handles crisis management and corporate malfeasance situations.  He is the co-author of “Defending the Company from Anti-Social Organizations: A Legal Manual for Managers”, and the author of  “Promoting Flexible Application of the Guidelines for Independent Investigation Committees” (Business Legal Practice, August 2011).

The Board Director Training Institute (BDTI) is a "public interest" nonprofit in Japan dedicated to training about directorship, corporate governance, and related management techniques. It is certified by the Japanese government to conduct these activities as a regulated nonprofit.
