Thierry Porte

Mr. Porte holds an A.B., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA with high honors from Harvard Business School.  From 1982 to 2003, he served in various capacities at Morgan Stanley in New York, London and Tokyo, including as Managing Director, President, Branch Manager and Representative Director of Morgan Stanley Japan (1995-2003).  He subsequently worked at Shinsei Bank, Ltd., Tokyo, where he served as Vice Chairman and Director (2003-2005) and President, Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director (2005-2008).  He is currently an Operating Partner of J.C. Flowers & Co. LLC, a private equity firm exclusively focused on financial services.  In this capacity, he serves as Chief Executive Officer of NPG Wealth Management, a Luxembourg-based insurance group, Chairman and non-executive Director of Equita, a Milan-based investment bank, and a Board Observer of Sicom, a Mumbai-based non-bank financial services  company.

The Board Director Training Institute (BDTI) is a "public interest" nonprofit in Japan dedicated to training about directorship, corporate governance, and related management techniques. It is certified by the Japanese government to conduct these activities as a regulated nonprofit.
