Summary – Japan at the Tipping Point: Japan’s New Corporate Governance Code and the Third Arrow Reforms

In view of its historical importance and expected impact as the primary policy in the Third Arrow of Japan’s growth strategy, I have put together a Powerpoint summary about the draft corporate governance code and its implications against the backdrop of Japan’s growth strategy.

The summary covers:

1) The genesis of these policies: how we got here;
2) The issues the corporate governance code is intended to address; and
3) What sort of issues remain, and the implication of the reforms for the future.

It is certified by the Japanese government to conduct these activities as a regulated nonprofit. Read a summary about BDTI here, and see a menu of its services for both corporations and investors here.
