Takaya Seki

Mr. Seki received his B.Sc from Imperial College London, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Kyoto University.  Having served in positions at Toyo Trust, NTK Research (an affiliate of the Mizuho Financial Group), and Corporate Practice Partners, he has extensive practical experience related to banking, corporate trust, and investment. He has advised government agencies, public pension funds and the Tokyo Stock Exchange about corporate governance and fiduciary duty. He is currently a member of METI’s Corporate Disclosure Committee, and the Financial Service Agency’s Corporate Governance Liaison Committee.  Mr Seki is the author of a number of books and articles, including “Corporate Governance and Accountability” (Shoji-Homu, 2008), and “Legal Reform and Shareholder Activism by Institutional Investors in Japan”, (in “Corporate Governance”, Vol. 13, No. 3, May 2005).
